Design Thinking
VET IAS, School of Computing, Chetana - An Association of Department of Computer Science and Institution's Innovation Council organized a Workshop on "Design thinking" on 30th December 2024. The session was handled by Ms.Vysnavi Arumugam, Academy Head of Sprout Knowledge Solution Pvt Limited, Coimbatore
The workshop on Design Thinking for undergraduate Computer Science students focused on fostering creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Participants were introduced to the five stages of design thinking: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test, with practical examples. Interactive activities encouraged collaborative brainstorming and the use of human-centric approaches to tackle real-world challenges.
Students explored techniques like user personas, journey mapping, and rapid prototyping. Case studies highlighted the importance of iterative processes and feedback. The outcome was a deeper understanding of how to align technical solutions with user needs. Participants developed prototypes addressing societal problems, showcasing their creative potential.
Feedback from students indicated increased confidence in applying design thinking to academic and professional projects. The workshop emphasized teamwork and interdisciplinary approaches, preparing students for innovative contributions in their field.
