A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology is a Bachelor's degree affiliated with Bharathiar University. This degree is of three years having six semesters. This degree is basically centered on subjects such as programming, databases, and systems administration. This Programme is best suited for students who are keen on taking up a career in the field of IT and have a technical bent of mind. Further, students will be exploring the intricacies of software testing, software development, software engineering, web design, programming databases, computer networking, and computer systems. The department faculty members are well qualified and experienced. The faculty members of the department are deeply engaged in research.

The main motto of the department is to bring out the technical talent of the younger generation and mould them holistically in such a way that they face the external world with prompt interpersonal and problem-solving skills. In order to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and the industry requirements, the department organizes expert talks, seminars on current topics, conduct activities like industry visits, technical talks, real-time projects to polish the students’ technical and soft skills Students are offered a plethora of opportunities to acquire and improve key competencies in Information Technology, which further encourages them to pursue careers in the highly competitive IT sector along, with equal emphasis on human values and professional ethics.
