Sports Day 2025

The 6th Parakrama Sports Day Celebrations held at VET Institute of Arts and Science College, Thindal, Erode, on 21st February 2025, began with a vibrant and ceremonial March Past, where students from various houses proudly marched to the rhythm of the beats, showcasing their unity and discipline. This was followed by the lighting of the Olympic Torch, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship, and the flag hoisting, marking the official commencement of the event. The day commenced with the Welcome Address by Ms. S. Ilakkiya Devi (III B.A. Sociology) Sports Secretary (Women).

The Annual Sports Report was presented by Lt. Dr. A. Suresh, the Physical Director, who took the audience through a recap of the achievements in sports over the past year, highlighting the successes of the college’s athletes in various competitions at regional, state, and national levels. The Presidential Address was delivered by Thiru S.D.Chandrasekar, Secretary and Correspondent, Vellalar Institutions, who congratulated the students for their consistent enthusiasm in sports and encouraged them to continue excelling in both academics and athletics. The Trustee, Thiru. C. Balasubramanian and the Principal, Dr. V.P. Nallaswamy, felicitated the gathering. Both acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the students in making the event a grand success. The highlight of the event was the Chief Guest Address by Smt. Anitha Pauldurai, Padma Shri Awardee and Southern Railway Sports Officer. In her inspiring speech, she shared her personal journey as a basketball player and encouraged the students to pursue their dreams, emphasizing that sports can shape character and open up multiple avenues for success.

The event was graced by esteemed personalities from the sports fraternity and academia including the Administrative Officer Dr. S. Logesh Kumar, Heads of various departments and faculty members. The Pandiya House emerged as the victorious house, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication throughout the competitions, earning them the coveted title of Overall Championship. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. R. Thangaraj (III B. Com.PA), Sports Secretary (Men). The event not only offered students a chance to display their athletic abilities but also helped strengthen a sense of community and pride within the institution.
