International Womens Day

Women's Day celebration at VET Institute of Arts and Science (Co-education) College on 12th March 2025 was a grand and inspiring event, filled with cultural vibrancy and intellectual discourse. The program commenced on a serene note with an aesthetic rendition of Thiruppavai setting a spiritual and graceful tone for the day. Dr. S. Logesh kumar, Administrative Officer, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty, and students, marking the beginning of the proceedings. This was followed by the Presidential address delivered by Thiru S. D. Chandrasekar, Secretary and Correspondent, Vellalar Educational Institutions, who emphasized the pivotal role of women in shaping the society in the presence of Thiru C Balasubramanian, Trustee, Thiru M.Yuvaraja, Trustee, Dr. S. K. Jayanthi, Principal, Vellalar College For Women, Ms.D.Akshaya Principal Vellalar College of Nursing, Dr. T Malliga, Principal, Vellalar College of Education, Thiru Chenniappan, Administrative Officer, Vellalar Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Mrs. Rani, Administrative Officer.
Adding depth to the occasion, Ms. S. Niveditha, HR Executive, VET IAS, spoke about the history of Women's Day, shedding light on its significance and evolution over the years. A captivating audio-visual presentation paid tribute to Suhasini Maniratnam, the renowned actor and philanthropist, and the founder of NAAM Charitable Trust. She was honoured with a shawl and a memento. In her inspiring address, she highlighted the importance of education, resilience, and breaking barriers, encouraging women to rise above societal challenges. The cultural segment added an artistic flourish to the event by the female members of faculty and students. Ms. Swedha, Assistant Professor of Costume Design & Fashion, has mesmerized the audience with a stunning classical dance performance, blending grace and tradition. A power-packed Martial performance by the students showcased their strength, skill, and determination, symbolizing the indomitable spirit of women.
To conclude the event on a formal yet profound note, Dr. L. Mohanasundari, Head & Associate Professor, Department of English, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, performers, and participants for making the celebration a resounding success. The program culminated with the National Anthem, resonating through the venue in a fine, harmonious tune, leaving the audience with a sense of inspiration and empowerment.
